as we're days away from signing the lease for our location and launching rook coffee roasters, i will share with you an incredibly scaled down reflection of how our business has evolved since its inception:
march 2009: a coffee business idea is born in san francisco
april 2009: coffee research and meeting take place in san francisco
may 2009: coffee research takes place in portland, seattle and vancouver
june 2009: "the office" is set up in monmouth county, nj
july 2009: brooklyn is researched for a coffee shop location, and rook coffee inc. is born
august 2009: rook coffee inc. transforms into rook coffee roasters
september 2009: the first home roast takes place, and jersey is researched for location
october 2009: THE location is discovered and materials, machinery and supplies are purchased
there is obviously much more that comes with this time line of events, but i'll spare you the pain, sweat, tears and triumphs for now. let's just say it's been a loooong seven point five months...of course every single second well worth it!
